Mingling At The Entr’acte

The cloud of suspense was becoming compact

The mood was tense to ensure most impact

A baffling mystery had to be cracked

A sordid crime they needed to re-enact

It was the end of the second act

Moments before the entr’acte

We stretched went out and snacked

I powdered my nose with my compact

Nodded to each other matter-of-fact

The plot was convoluted enough to distract

Had everyone admitting massive confusion intact

Was it the lady in red they attacked

Was the weapon found in the house that got ransacked

Was it the business owner’s computer that they hacked

Was the killer the guy with the severe cataract

Was it the butler who decided to counteract

The wildest theories were purely abstract

The play was about to restart and unveil each dirty fact

Time to see who was right ‘cause it was all quite action packed
