Archery onlookers may need to be somewhat educated about what goes on in the field. Archers taking aim and releasing arrows is pretty self-explaining, though might be a tad boring to watch. Things get interesting when they go toward the targets. Body language tells it all! Those walking in upright position looking straight ahead are those which have hit their marks true, and also those which thoroughly understand their sport. Those that walk broken-back-fashion looking at the ground are "grazers" for lost arrows. It is further confirmed when they proceed way behind the target stand. You cant hear the swearing, but its there... The sourface who examines the bow upon return is not satisfied, and tries to find and place the blame with the tackle. He often unpacks the tool kit and forfeits the next shooting round, fumbling and mumbling trough the next ten minutes. Avoid talking to him at that time, and keep the safe distance. Truth is, the bow is rarely the culprit but humans are like that; blame anything but themselves! It is the other way around: an archer is the single most important part of the whole arangement, and the mechanical parts are just mercilessly pointing out some among so many human errors and mistakes. Archery is best described as an exercise in displaying human lack of repeating precision. This sport isnt for just anyone. It takes courage to admit ones own shortcomings, to have this publicly shown, and to strive to transcend it. Thats why many try it just to abandon the sport in frustration, for it is not easy to fight oneself. Those that remain become better persons.
