Retired pro, but a lifelong amateur at heart. Also a diver with decades of experience, and still addicted to underwater photography. I never go to water without a camera, to be able to record the beauties of the submerged Nature. Which, as you well know, covers the largest part of the Earth.
I will enjoy what our wonderful Earth offers to our eyes and mind for as long as I can.
This is how I have customized my underwater camera:
1 Lens Cap (on wet lens adapter)
2 Lens Cap safety line (detachable at fingerplate)
3 Fingerplate (above middle and fourth finger, secures camera grip)
4 Adjusts strap length (camera to fingerplate) between fingers
5 Adjusts wrist strap loop length
6 Wrist strap (with provided safety breaking point)
7 Spirit bubble level (glued to camera)
All modifications were made to enable me the one-handed use of the camera, as the fingerplate lets me hold the camera securely even with open palm, until I spread the fingers; that releases the fingerplate. In the meantime I can operate all the camera commands using just the thumb of the camera-holding hand.
The spirit bubble level is superglued within the concave line in the camera case, and it lets me quickly correct the camera horizontality from all positions, without checking the monitor.
The wrist strap ends are connected above the wrist with small metal clip that will rip apart when certain force is applied, which helps one to free oneself if the camera gets entangled during free dive.
