Young god, a Hoary Man.

At my age I don’t need stress. Certain, I’d slept.

I woke up and the brightness of day to my eyes came like fade-in while my eyelid grew up to appreciate light that rose clearly.

A huge bird I’ve not seen before snaffled me and we began to travel in the air.

How did I sleep outdoor on the sandy ground?

I couldn’t observe how this huge bird held me so tight with claws and sped-off; caused my rumpled shirt to wave air good bye behind me like bumps they vertically sat on my shirt with so much buzzing sound that went on in my ear.

We were in thwart-wise, actively involved in spacious world and I could see states, the villages, monuments, sky scrapers, we’d passed. The speed took slide fast and past my eyes. The bird dropped me.

Boom!

I raised dust with my face on the ground; I used to be, but now young again and fresh.

“Welcome, god of our time, ibiala eh?”  A small being had bowed to me in high esteem.

I stood from the center of these creatures, they circumscribed me. I bet you; you haven’t seen them before.

Big, I grew big as I looked at them small, they bow to me; I could see the bird no more. I had to take time to learn how they speak, a strange one at that.

“You may rise.” I’d said.

I didn’t know when I said so.

These beings were half face scraped, worn off with broad eyes that sat deeper into their face than the ordinary human being.

They looked so much like human beings but smaller than midgets and they had slim legs and their toes spread out like it would seek for space in the world.

“From today we’ll no more share with death, Anyi agaghi abukwa oru ozo nye ebe oke-agwo nde nkogu… We’ll not be slaves to the great snakes of war. We’ll enjoy fruits of our labour…” Their spokesman yelled.

Soon, a spacious tenth, clear white and finely divided, housed me. Everything served me.

But, why sleep they’ll so quickly?

One hour up another one hour, they’re sleeping, in twenty four hours; they went to bed the same time in twelve hours.

“Zara, you’re most intelligent, why faster than I do, you people sleep?” I hadn’t smiled.

“You’re our God, they one to save this Brute planet from the great snake tribulations.” He bowed.

“Don’t bow, rise… Why Brute, are you brutal?”

“Not our kind. Our days is shortening faster than imagination, you’ll see our one thousand years as a year as time goes on…” He smiled.

While we were dinning, they struck center of the Villages, cracks swept everything apart, and I saw myself arose with swords and boots, helmet and well kitted.

The snakes were here.

They swept their selves left to right on the ground. Brutes made raucous sound and anything witnessed snake body floggings and got Brutes injured, some died.

I need to save Brute’s kingdom.

They depend on me.

They snakes braided their selves and together, higher than my sudden huge height. The Brute beings and Zara surrounded my leg.

They did climb my leg to waist like ants would.

I looked up into the fierce eyes of the fat snakes and their wild pose, terrifying tooth that sat in their mouth.

Each time the struck, hundreds of Brutes died.

Snakes‘d grabbed Zara out my waist, Zara wailed, Brutes raucous increased.

Do you know when a drummer played the high-height forever in your resting room?

Same discomfort as what happened now.

I threw steps forward, stretched my hand, they spin Zara in the air, I spit fire on them and they felt they spark, Zara left loosed in the air, I grabbed him and dropped him safe.

I threw several swords at them; Brute all supplied swords to me to enable how fast we attacked snakes. Suddenly, they disappeared.

I gathered board of Brute beings; we had to find a solution. Some Brute warriors went in search of a seed I’d suggested, cola seed, found in bushes near bitter leaves.

“We’ll use this cola seed to destabilize the snakes…” I’d said.

“How do we go about it?” Zara asked

“It’ll be enshrined with some words I shall speak to it then deep down the ground shall it be planted against the snakes…”

I’ve only stayed four months and they Brutes complained that the time has run three years since I came. In their eyes, their days of doom are fast approaching.

“Watch it…” Zara pointed and instructed the Brute warriors.

Battle field came again.

The snakes wiped their selves simultaneously and the cracks tore Brutes apart.

We were in disarray, my strikes were fruitless. We implemented all our strategies but none worked.

My guess perhaps will not work not today, not tomorrow. I’m not sure I’m really that god they expect me to be. I see it on their faces too.

I’m disappointment myself.

This fight‘d continued… we kept on implanting the seed.

“Let the fight begin!!!” I threw my swords while they supplied them.

Today seems to be hopeful.

The Brutes raced into them without fear setting the ropes of fire across the boundaries and sprinkling of the cola water.

I spat, this is the first time my fire worked greatly, it weakened the snakes; they danced swirl in the air weak, I did again.

Soon, swords I threw, with the ropes of fire that cut their swirling bodies beneath, I raised thunders and the snakes were no more.

Seven years gone in my time and forty-nine years past in their time.

I raised my head quick; I’ve been three to seven days dreaming… My son, Bernard crying bitterly beside but he smiled now, either side of his face below his eyes were tears.

“How old am I?” My sour voice with bitter taste sounded cracked.

“Ninety-eight years…”

I dumped head back into my sickbed.
