Ideas a plenty, words a scarcity

So I was at work today, when one of the surgeon started talking about a workshop he had attended  on endometriosis. They were working on women cadavers, all who had died in their early twenties. He expressed how he found it suprising how young they were. While listening to this, my inner writer perked up. This would be a great idea for a story. Maybe these women had been murdered, so that the cure for endometriosis could be found quicker, maybe a undiscovered disease had lead to their death or germ warfare by some unknown enemy was killing young women. What if a secret society/goverment had decided the best way to save the planet was to kill young women thereby reducing the planets human population.

As you see no shortage of ideas, however where to from here. Plot, characters, protagonist , minor characters, synopses, outline. I have read all about these. However reading about and doing are not the same.

I usually write a killer introduction, maybe continue from there for a page or three, unfortunately that's when things start to fizzle out.

To my credit I do keep trying. I have at least written about fifteen introductions, however they are all about different things.

Never mind those fifteen, I am ready to start number sixteen. This maybe the one.

With this story I am going to put into practice the advice and methods I have read about, startling with.....

Setting aside a half hour a day to write.

I am currently working as a theatre nurse. Love to write in my spare time. Have started a number of stories but have not completed any. Goal is to write a novel, but fear of failure seems to be holding me back. Hoping this forum will give me the support and motivation I need. Would like to try my hand at some writing jobs.
