What Did We See

a strange sense of adventure

just chasing an attraction

top of my bucket list

Antarctica a place lost from man’s view

or is it just frozen in time?

we can see but a vision…

now closer its life like

looks to be a massive frozen statue in ice

some say its Moses

treated this adventure like a cause

method to this madness

some have died along this trek

appallingly wonderful lives cut short

a vivacious stand out we find

a case of miss-identity

do we know how he got here?

Is this not a fantasy?

can this be the end of the world?

we couldn’t feel our bodies

been out here twelve hours

can’t die an unlikely death

the harshest environment on earth

completely unforgiving toward man

tiredness and mental confusion

we began to descend the mountain

back at camp we ate and rested for days

it would be months before the next flight

years later we talk and share pictures

none of our pictures show the massive ice statue

did we see something early AD?

was it real or just a fantasy?

Card image cap Terry Shuff - I enjoyed your description of your journey to Antarctica. I also visualize people of the past and their adventures and hardships.
